Gahanna has been the fastest growing region in Columbus in the past few years. This is an expected trend to continue. Plus Columbus has been named the #1 fastest growing city in America.
ONLY 12.1 PERCENT OF THE POPULATION IS AFFILIATED WITH AN EVANGELICAL CHURCH. THERE IS ONLY ONE BAPTIST CHURCH FOR EVERY 15,555 PEOPLE.
Columbus is a melting pot of diversity. The city is closer to overall U.S. demographics on race and income than most urban areas in the U.S. That and the vibrant college status makes it an ideal location from which to reach the world.
THE MEDIAN AGE OF RESIDENTS IN GAHANNA IS 30-39. THIS IS A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF YOUNG FAMILIES THAT NEED GOD'S GUIDANCE IN RAISING A FAMILY.
AND BE FOUND IN HIM, NOT HAVING A RIGHTEOUSNESS OF MY OWN THAT COMES FROM THE LAW, BUT THAT WHICH COMES THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST… PHIL 3:9
Guide Church is the sending church from the west side of Columbus and with them being close by we fully expect God to do great things with both evangelism projects and community engagement from the start.
WHEN WE PLANT GOSPEL-CENTERED CHURCHES, WE CONTINUE GOD’S MISSION OF DESTROYING THE STRONGHOLDS OF EVIL IN THE WORLD.
The average new church gains most of its new members (60–80%) from the ranks of people who are not attending any worshiping body, while churches over ten to fifteen years of age gain 80–90 percent of new members by transfer from other congregations. This means the average new congregation will bring six to eight times more new people into the life of the body of Christ than an older congregation of the same size.
New congregations engage and empower new people and new peoples much more quickly and readily than established churches. This means not only that we need church planting so that frontier regions or unevangelized countries can become Christian, but also that Christian countries will have to maintain vigorous, extensive church planting simply to stay Christian.
New churches bring about new ideas, develop new leaders, challenge others churches to self-examination, and can be an ‘evangelistic feeder’ for the whole community.
